Your role 

  • Leading quality reviews of engagement files and financial statement technical reviews
  • Proposing and implementing corrective action plans arising from internal and external practice inspections
  • Preparing and/or delivering firm training on technical and practice matters
  • Responding to technical queries from firm members by providing research and practical solutions to accounting and assurance issues
  • Leading engagement template development and maintenance, as needed
  • Acting as a key liaison with CPA Saskatchewan and Baker Tilly Canada on quality control matters
  • Other learning and development and quality improvement initiatives, as needed

Where you’ll work:  

Remote, Hybrid, or In-Office arrangements will be considered (Saskatoon, or Emerald Park, or Yorkton, Saskatchewan)



Skills

What you bring to the table  

  • CPA designation required
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience at a manager level in a public accounting firm in Canada
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting (IFRS, ASPE, ASNPO, PSAS) and assurance standards
  • Previous experience in leading teams and overseeing staff on multiple engagements
  • Previous experience in carrying out engagement quality reviews and financial statement technical reviews would be an asset
  • Experience in a professional standards role preferred
  • Interest in independently conducting research into complex accounting and assurance issues
  • Ability to coordinate, execute and take ownership of multiple short and long-term projects
  • Advanced written and verbal communication, presentation and relationship building skills
  • Confidence and professionalism in liaising with senior members of our firm and network
